Code 32662, Thoracoscopy, surgical; with excision of mediastinal cyst, tumor, or mass, would not be appropriate as this code represents the type of surgical approach used, but not specifically the excision of the thymus. Code 60521, Thymectomy, partial or total; sternal split or transtho-
racic approach, without radical mediastinal dissection (separate procedure), represents the thymectomy, however, performed by an open surgical approach as opposed to thorascopic technique.
